The Antelope Audio A4-1B is a clone of the renowned CL 1B tube-optical compressor, with digital plugin recall and automation capabilities.
Until now, Antelope Audio has built a reputation around the quality of its audio interfaces and the Synergy Core DSP system. So this new development comes straight outta left field.

The A4-1B is a careful recreation of the legendary Danish tube compressor that we’ve heard on so many of our favourite vocal recordings. This classic design combines optical compressor technology with tube circuitry to deliver wonderfully smooth and musical compression which is ideal for tracking bass guitars or vocals for Pop and RnB.
Antelope Audio has harnessed this beloved design and extended its features to make this classic compressor more relevant than ever in modern recording workflows. Built with premium tubes and UK transformers, the A4-1B delivers high-fidelity audio reproduction, while the voltage-adapting power supply ensures stability and a low noise floor.
With its digital control app, you can automate the A4-1B from your DAW, as well as recall and compare presets. Meanwhile, the plugin interface also allows unique features like sidechain filtering and de-essing, making the A4-1B a formidable modern compressor for both recording and mixing applications.

Naja ob das jetzt ein Clone von Tubetech CL 1B ist ? Der Tubetech basiert ja auch auf dem Schaltkreis vom Teletronix LA-2A nur mit mehr Reglern.
Perpetual license doesn’t mean perpetual support for future OS’s.
Perpetual is a very VERY long time..!
Just remember, there are LA2A’s still working fine after 60+ years of service. You honestly think Antelope Audio are going to keep writing updates for the software for 60+ years?
Well the way i see it, it means that they aim to offer support for as long as the company exists. While i understand your point i find it a bit extreme as you still have a wonderful Hardware piece that will keep working for decades until our hearing is too bad either way.
However , ,,,, the price is prohibiting for my budget. Damn thats a lot of buck……
