Black Limba

With the Jet and the CVT, Gretsch is launching two different body shapes in limited editions, both featuring the characteristic Black Limba wood. While the Jet features a classic chambered body and arched top, the CVT opts for a slimmer, bolt-on design. Both look very appealing thanks to their elegant sunburst finish and gold matching hardware throughout.

Electromatic Black Limba Jet

As mentioned, the Jet features a chambered black limba body with a bound, arched black limba top. Contoured forearm and body shapes, along with a rounded neck heel, enhance playability. The neck itself boasts the Performance “C” profile. Mounted on this is a 12-inch radius ebony fretboard with pearloid Neo Classic thumbnail inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets. A GraphTech NuBone nut and a classic wraparound bridge ensure the necessary tuning stability.

The CVT, by contrast, features a slightly heavier black limba body with beveled contours. The bolt-on black limba neck has a rosewood fretboard, also adorned with the characteristic pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. It also uses the Performance “C” neck profile, but with a slightly longer scale length of 24.6 inches. A GraphTech NuBone nut and a wraparound bridge with adjustable saddles ensure tuning stability.

Twin Six humbucker

Both models feature two Twin Six humbucking pickups. The wiring is relatively simple: a master volume control with a treble bleed circuit ensures that the high frequencies aren’t lost when the volume is turned down. This delivers genre-spanning sounds and makes both guitars highly versatile instruments.

Both are impressive-looking guitars, and the price points are very appealing on both models.
