All About the New Fender Ultra Luxe Models
Ultra Luxe
Fender announced the Ultra Luxe range with a new spin on the classic Stratocaster and Telecaster models. Made in the USA, these premium models feature an Heirloom nitrocellulose finish for the body with a mixture of old and new specifications for the modern player.
Heirloom Finishes in Ultra Luxe
This lightly aged Heirloom finish was recently used on the Bruno Mars signature Strat and offers a very lightly aged look and feel, so don’t expect big chunks of missing paint and wood poking through the finish.
’50s & ’60s Stratocaster Ultra Luxe
The ’50s Strats come with an alder body with an Augmented “D” profile maple neck that has a 10″ to 14″ compound radius maple fretboard and 22 medium jumbo stainless steel frets. The ’60s version has a rosewood fretboard instead of a maple.
Both come with Luminlay side dots and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and have a satin lacquer finish.
Available in 3 Color Sunburst and White Blonde.
Pickups for the ’50s model are a set of Pure Vintage ’57 Single-Coil Strat models, and the ’60s model comes with the Pure Vintage ’61 Single-Coil Strat models instead. They also have an HSS version with the Haymaker Humbucker in the bridge position.
They all have the standard Strat wiring of a Master Volume (with S-1 switch), Tone 1, Tone 2, and a 5-way pickup selector switch.
The ’60s Strat is available in Surf Green and Ice Blue Metallic.
Hardware for both versions includes a 2-Point Deluxe Synchronized Tremolo with Pop-In Arm and a set of sealed locking Fender tuners.
The HSS is available in Seafoam Green and Fiesta Red.
50s Telecaster & ’60s Custom Telecaster
Also on offer are the ’50s Telecaster and the ’60s Telecaster, which follow a similar formula to the Strats above, with a maple ’50s neck and a rosewood fretboard for the ’60s Custom model, which also has a double-bound body.
Both models have the Fender 6-Saddle American Tele bridge with Brass Saddles. The ’60s Custom just has chrome plated brass saddles, so visually they are slightly different.
The ’50s and ’60s have a ‘D’ shape neck and Ultra rolled edges with 22 medium jumbo stainless-steel frets, Luminlay side dots, and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut.
The ’50s Telecaster has the Pure Vintage ’51 Single-Coil Tele and a Master Volume (S-1 Switch), and Master Tone with a 3-position blade switch.
’50s Telecaster available in Butterscotch Blonde and White Blonde.
The ’60s Custom models come with the Pure Vintage ’63 Single-Coil Tele instead, with the same control layout.
These ’60s Customs are available in a 3 Color Sunburst and Lake Placid Blue finish.
