The WesAudio ngTubeEQ is a versatile 4-band passive EQ with dual-mono, stereo, and mid-side modes and digital recall and automation.

The Polish manufacturer WesAudio has done it yet again, bringing the magic of vintage-style analogue gear into the modern music era with plugin control from your DAW.

The ngTubeEQ is a passive EQ with 12 selectable frequencies on each of the four bands. Moreover, each band has variable Q, both bell and shelf modes, and they can be individually bypassed for precise control.

In addition, each of the 2 channels has an active filter section with variable high-pass and low-pass filters. This gives you additional power to isolate the frequency range you’re working with, in dual-mono, stereo, or mid-side mode.

Another versatile feature, is that there are two colour-coded selectable output stages. Green is an electronically balanced output stage with a punchy modern sound, while red is the tube implication and Carnhill transformer stage with IRON PAD controls.

This unique topology allows you to hit the tube amp and transformer stages harder without altering the signal through the passive attenuation stage. What’s more, when combined with the Total Harmonic Distortion control you can introduce saturation.

Overall, the ngTubeEQ is certainly designed for precise mixing, mastering, or live sound applications. With features like Propotional and Constant Q as well as different gain modes, you have the choice to take the more modern or vintage approach.

Meanwhile, the plugin interface gives you metering and even ships with a selection of factory presets. However, the price tag will make you wonder if it’s truly in the same league as Manley and Chandler Limited.

Pricing and availability:

The ngTubeEQ will be available soon from your favourite retailer, priced at $5,999 MSRP.
