Announced at NAMM 2016 and shipping from April, Warm Audio present their new WA-2A. Clearly designed to be a replica of the infamous LA2A, this is a very appealing product with an even more appealing price tag. Is it too good to be true?

Warm Audio have built a reputation for building high-quality outboard equipment with an emphasis on keeping prices down. After their release a year ago of the WA-76, another replica of a gear-icon which has been well received, this promises to be something to watch out for.

Warm Audio state that they use high-quality components bought in bulk to keep the prices down, and that the WA-2A “boasts an all tube, completely discrete signal path”. The units include “custom, large-core Cinemag input and output transformers, four premium vacuum tubes, and the legendary Kenetek opto-cell, considered by many to be the world’s finest”.

Shipping to UK Dealers in early April, recommended retail is GBP 799! Even if Warm Audio have only managed to create something that’s close to the LA2A, these will sell like hot cakes. I can’t wait to see the first review and to try one myself.
