That tiny VH Micro Amp Head from Diezel that got leaked on 1 September has now been officially released. Packing 30-watts of power, this mini amp head could be a lot of fun, and easy enough to carry to your next gig.
Diezel VH Micro Amp Head
The new Diezel VH Micro Amp Head is based on the third channel of the full-size VH4 head, and manages 30-watts of solid-state power into its tiny form factor.
When we originally broke the news, the amps were only available in Japan. But now they are officially available to order worldwide. It follows the same form factor as the Friedman BE Mini and the Bogner Mini Ecstasy models, all of which come from the same factory, Boutique Amp Distribution, who got affected by a fire back in June of this year.
The micro amp head has controls for Master, Deep, Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Gain. But unlike the Friedman and Bogner editions, there are no mini-switches for extra voicing options. You also have two speaker outs on 8 Ohm and 16 Ohm, as well as an effects send and return loop on the rear panel.
You can hear the new mini Diezel VH Micro Amp Head in the demo videos below. It sounds pretty similar to its big brother, the VH4. Yet, I doubt it has the same depth and weight to its tone as the full-sized boutique amp head designed in Germany. The benefits though, are that it is a lot more affordable and certainly a lot more portable at only 9.5” (w) x 6.25” (d) x 5.25” (h), and weighs in at a measly 4 lbs!
