TC Electronics’ K-115, the latest addition to their lightweight K-Cabs bass cabinet range, is available now. Focusing fully on the lower portion of the bass sound, this compact cabinet adds to the company’s K-Cabs range by offering some much-needed low-end growl, yet in a lightweight package.

The whole idea behind the range is to provide good-sounding, lightweight cabinets that also have plenty of oomph. The cabs feature titanium tweeters and drivers custom-made for TC. So rather than using ‘off the shelf’ speakers they have carefully designed the K-Cabs range to suit gigging musicians that need a cab that won’t break their backs lifting it in and out of vans, but will provide plenty of low end in a band situation.

The K-115 has a 15” driver that can deliver up to 400 Watts of power and has two 8-Ohm inputs using Speakon connectors on the back. Unlike the other cabs in the K-Cabs range, the K-115 has no tweeter and is really designed purely for the low end part of your sound. The cabinet is rear-ported and weighs in at 23.5 kg. You can, of course, mix and match it with the other cabinets in the range to achieve a more balanced bass tone if needed.

The K-Cabs series is designed to let you combine individual units together, and the cabinets have also been shaped to stack well. This means you can build your own tower of power by mixing and matching different cabs from the range to achieve your desired tone.

Other cabs in the range include the K-210 with two 10”drivers and a 1” tweeter, the K-212 with two 12” drivers and a 1” tweeter and the K-410 with four 10” drivers and, again, a 1” tweeter.

RRP K-115 15” cab GBP £369
