The Bob Moog Foundation is creating a virtual tour of the Moogseum which opened last year in downtown Asheville. Bob’s daughter Michelle will be your host for this special online event.

Virtual Moogseum

I bet you thought this was going to be some simple virtual walk around? No no this a ticket-only personal tour around the museum of Bob Moogs life, work and legacy. You’ll be guided by Michelle Moog-Koussa who can lend some unique insight to the exhibits. The tour will be filmed by a professional videographer and live-streamed through a private Facebook Group page. Your ticket will give you access to the stream.

One unique part of the tour that caught my eye is this:

Given the occasion of Theremin’s birthday, there will be an added focus on him, and on Bob’s connection to him. We will be taking a look at the history and circuitry of two of the earliest R.A. Moog theremins. Michelle will have them out of their exhibit cases, and we’ll take the cabinetry apart so that the interior is visible, as we discuss some of the basic elements of the circuitry. We’ll also take a close look at the Moog prototype, which is currently on loan from The Henry Ford museum.

It’s a one-off event happening on the 15th August at 2pm New York time and will be followed by a 15 minute Q & A session. The tickets start at $5 but they’d very much like you to pay more if you don’t mind too much.
