Korg enjoys a little bit of DIY synthesis as we’ve seen with the Little Bits synth kit but they have another idea under development called the Nu:Tekt digital programmable synthesizer kit.

Nu:Tekt

It’s a soldering free kit in a little box reminiscent of the Monotron Duo. It has a digital oscillator that can run saw, triangle and square waves plus VPM and User waves. It has an analogue modelled multimode filter, some very flexible envelope generation options and a bunch of digital effects. It has a little keyboard and an arpeggiator and it all looks pretty darn neat.

The key coolest thing though is that the “User” part of the oscillator is compatible with the Prologue and Minilogue custom oscillators and effects. So it’s like having a mini Multi-Engine custom oscillator that you can use with whatever you like.

No information on price or availability but this could be a fabulous little thing.
