D’Angelico has announced a new model, the Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer Atlantic Signature guitar at Summer NAMM. Available in Premier and Deluxe versions, this instrument has a decidedly retro styling. If the demo sounds are anything to go by, this thing has plenty of juicy vintage tones on tap.
D’Angelico Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer Atlantic Signature
The new D’Angelico Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer Atlantic Signature model is available in both Premier and Deluxe Series versions. Both guitars have a basswood body with a sonic blue finish, a tortoise f-hole pickguard and satin chrome hardware.
The single cutaway solid body design looks great! Bags of vintage cool going on here. I also really like the look of the set-thru neck design on both models, it looks nicely done.
Premier vs Deluxe
With the Deluxe version you get a maple/walnut/maple 24.75″ scale length neck and they have Pau Ferro fretboards with 22 medium frets. Whilst the Premier version comes as standard with a maple neck and has an Ovangkal fretboard instead.
The Premier edition comes fitted with a pair of Duncan Designed humbuckers, while the Deluxe model has a Seymour Duncan custom DA-59 in the neck and an Antiquity humbucker in the bridge position.
Both models look well made and you can hear Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer playing his new signature model below in the official demo video. He sounds super excited to have his own signature model and the guitar sounds great in his hands.
RRP – USD 999 for Premier and USD 1849 for the Deluxe
