Easily one of the best products shown at NAMM this year was the Strymon Magneto Four Head dTape Echo and Looper. It’s the first Eurorack module produced by the boutique effects pedal manufacturer. Since NAMM it has been turning up in all sorts of studios and modular rigs and so to celebrate the official release I’ve put together a handful of my favourite user videos that show off what it can do.

It’s a stereo multi-head tape delay that also functions as a looper, phrase sampler, vintage spring reverb unit, phase-aligned clock multiplier, chaotic oscillator, zero latency sub-oscillator and a few more things besides. It looks modern, dangerous and exciting with a very pleasing layout that invites you to play.

They call it an Interstellar Space Machine:

Create expansive soundscapes and evolving, otherworldly tones. Add layers upon layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity within an enveloping stereo field. Infuse your rack with vintage warmth and retrofuturistic soul.

The Magneto is available now for $599 and does loads of very cool stuff. Check it out below.
