Sterling by Music Man has announced its new lineup for 2022, including the StingRay, Mariposa, Cutlass guitars and more. Plus the new StingRay 34/35bass models. Here are the most important highlights of the new range of guitars and basses.
For a design that originated back in the 1970s, these new 2022 variations look quite modern. The StingRay SR50 has received some great upgrades for 2022. Because now they include a roasted maple neck, along with a body made of poplar. It is fitted with a smooth vintage tremolo paired with a set of locking tuners which is perfect for keeping them in tune. Now available in the new Firemist Silver and Buttermilk finishes for 2022.
The unmistakable timbre of StingRay is an integral part of the collection of every bass player. Brand new for 2022, the StingRay Ray34 and StingRay 35 models are now available in many new colours, including a range of Sparkle and Flame Maple top finishes for some pretty neat eye–catching aesthetics. These models also have a roasted maple neck, along with a player-friendly modern contoured body plus an active pickup with a 3-band EQ.
Designed in collaboration with Omar Rodríguez-López, the popular Mariposa is now available in a Pueblo Pink finish. It also comes with a roasted maple neck, locking tuners, two humbuckers, which are controlled by separate volume controls and a three-way switch. Definitely an eye-catcher, with some great specifications, plus a cool colour scheme for 2022.
The classic among the models for the modern player has just had a facelift. The 2022 Cutlass is now available in two satin versions. It features a vintage-style tremolo, an oversized 4+2 headstock for a continuous tilt angle. You get an HSS pickups configuration this time, paired with a 5-way switch. These models also have a roasted maple neck, along with a set of locking tuners. Now also available in Daphne Blue Satin and Pueblo Pink Satin.
These new Axis AX3QM models come in new quilted maple finishes, Spectrum Red or Spectrum Blue. Key features on these include a 5-way selector, an asymmetrical neck, plus what Sterling calls a vintage-inspired tremolo. Ths colours are pretty stunning, on these two so be sure to wear your sunglasses!
This John Petrucci 2022 Majesty in Siberian Sapphire comes as either the MAJ100 6-string model or the MAJ170 7-string version. Highlights include the 12dB push-push volume pot, a rosewood fretboard, plus a modern tremolo. This model offers modern looks, paired with exceptional playability.
