SSL UMD192: A Compact MADI/Dante Interface with Monster Channel Count

The SSL UMD192 is a compact audio interface for live sound, broadcast, and studio with low-latency Dante connectivity and power redundancy.

SSL UMD192
The UMD192 is a portable USB 3 interface that provides connectivity for up to 192 channels of digital audio in single-band 44.1/48 kHz across USB, Dante, MADI, or redundant MADI. Also, you get 192 channels in dual-band 88.2/96 kHz using USB, Dante, and MADI, and 96 channels with redundant MADI.
Then, in quad-band 176.4/192 kHz, you get 128 channels over USB and Dante, 96 channels over MADI, and 48 channels over redundant MADI. For versatility, there is clocking supported over both MADI and Dante. With a total of six MADI BNC ports, you get up to three dual-redundant MADI connections.
In addition, there is support for interoperable Dante AoIP with AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM). This is possible via an array of sturdy Ethernet ports, including two primary and two secondary ports with link and activity LED indicators. No matter the lighting conditions, you get a clear overview of your signal flow and sample rate, as well as audio and power connectivity.
There is also power redundancy with a range of options, including AC, USB bus power, and PoE. Overall, the UMD192 is the ultimate engineer’s tool, allowing you to work with any configuration in live and broadcast environments, while the rugged build and compact form factor ensure that it can deal with days on the road.
