The SSL 360° V2.1 update has arrived with a range of improvements, including enhanced integration for U Series controllers and workflow upgrades.
All about SSL 360°:
SSL 360° is a free software platform that bridges the gap between control surfaces and a DAW system. It provides an overview of compatible channel strips and bus processors within a single cohesive interface with routing capabilities and the classic SSL console-style look and feel.
SSL 360° V2.1 Update
With the V2.1 update, there is improved Logic Pro integration with the UC1 plugin controller. There is now synchronised track selection and track colours support, as well as track solo, mute, volume, and pan. These features are also accessible on the UF8 and UF1 controllers from within the SSL Plug-in Mixer, and the UF8 provides up to eight aux sends per track.
In Pro Tools, the UF8 and UF1 controllers can now show eight-character track names and mirror the colours of Pro Tools tracks for easy navigation. Automation functionality is also more streamlined, allowing you to choose automation modes without Auto Selection Mode. In addition, the UC1 controller now has channel solo and mute functions.
The update also improves the Plug-in Mixer, with new controls for the UF8 and UF1 like Soft Keys, Cursor Keys, and Quick Keys, as well as Scrub mode for the UF1. The Plug-in Mixer now has eight virtual Soft Keys, which allow HUI and MCU commands to be sent from SSL 360, even without the UF8 or UF1 controllers present.
The UC1 also offers comprehensive integration for the Harrison 32Classic Channel Strip V2 plugin, which is a free update for V1 owners. With preset management, A/B comparison, and undo/redo capabilities, you can get the most from the plugin, and there is backwards compatibility for plugin instances in existing DAW sessions.
SSL 360 Update Adds New Controller Profiles for LUNA and Pyramix Users [11 Nov, 2022]
The SSL 360 V1.4 update is here, bringing Merging Technologies’ Pyramix and Universal Audio LUNA DAW control templates for the UF8 and UC1.
In addition, there are a few other improvements and expansions to the SSL software bundles and a new 6-month SSL Complete subscription.
What’s new in the update?
After the recent release of the 4K B channel strip plug-in, which comes with the UC1 controller, it’s now time to expand the SSL 360 software system.
Let’s take a look at some of the features:
- If you’re a LUNA or Pyramix DAW user, the UF8 controller now has profiles for both systems.
- 4K B and Channel Strip 2 Plug-ins now offer integration of DAW track, solo, and mute in Studio One, Live, and REAPER.
- You can now control the plug-in mixer transport from your computer keyboard.
- The SSL 360° HOME page now offers access to the UC1 Bus Compressor Meter calibration tool.
- SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer GUI has been redesigned.
- New Channel Strip 2 features include pan, width, compressor mix, HQ mode (Oversampling), and a GUI update.
- SSL 360° V1.4 and its plug-ins are completely M1/ARM compatible.
