Following on from the 30-watt Classic head, the new Soldano SLO-30 Combo puts the tone into a compact cabinet and pairs it with a Celestion G12H-150 Redback speaker. This means that guitarists finally have the whole package in an easy-to-travel with combo amp format, which will no doubt please a lot of players.

Soldano states that the resulting tone offers players “a tight, fat low-end, laid-back treble, along with the right amount of Celestion’s signature midrange character to deliver compelling lead lines.”

Tube Tone

It is powered by five 12AX7 tubes in the preamp section and two 5881/6L6 tubes in the power amp section. Both the Normal and Overdrive channels have independent preamp and master controls and voicing switch options.

There is instant switching from the Normal to Overdrive channels via the included footswitch or via the channel toggle switch on the combo control panel.

Along with that famous Depth Control mod which is now built-in as standard.

EQ and Depth Control

The amp’s global 3-band EQ is enhanced with the Presence control and the aforementioned Depth control. There is also an ultra-transparent tube-buffered effect loop and a variable slave output. It even has a dedicated FX-level control.

Essentially, the original SLO 30 * amp head now has competition and this combo might be a better option for some guitarists.

This new combo format is certainly a great all-around amp for players that want that Soldano tone without the full 100-watt power output of the originals. And specifically, players that require a compact portable solution for gigging and/or studio work.

MSRP – USD 3199 for the Black finish and  USD 3399 for both the Snakeskin and Purple versions
