Softube releases Overstayer M-A-S and British Class A plug-ins
Softube has announced the Overstayer M-A-S and British Class A plug-ins. The first Overstayer M-A-S plug-in brings the famous harmonic shaper to your DAW. The British Class A channel strip plug-in offers the tone and character of the classic British consoles of the 60s and 70s.
Softube Overstayer M-A-S
The Overstayer M-A-S harmonic shaper, which is handmade in Los Angeles by Jeff Turzo, has gained a cult-like following as a “secret weapon” that brings energy to tracks, glues buses and enhances mixes and masters. By rounding and bending peaks, the device increases the apparent volume without the artifacts associated with compression. High and low EQ presets, a high pass filter and an emphasis circuit allow for additional tonal shaping.
Softube Overstayer M-A-S
The new Softube Overstayer M-A-S plug-in is the first software recreation of this iconic device. It’s officially licensed and was created in close collaboration with the developer of the original, Softube says. The manufacturer claims that it offers the same saturation and peak-bending capabilities as the hardware.
But Softube hasn’t stopped there: In addition to the Classic M-A-S, there’s an Extended version that offers resonant high and low pass filters and a 4-band emphasis EQ for additional tone shaping.

Softube’s second release today is no less exciting. The Softube British Class A plug-in is a channel strip modeled after classic British consoles of the 60s and 70s. With a full channel comprised of gate, compressor, EQ, filter and drive sections, the plug-in brings the authentic tone and character of the originals to your DAW-based studio, Softube claims.
In addition to the native plug-in, the Softube British Class A channel strip includes versions for Console 1, Amp Room and Modular, so you can benefit from that classic British sound in your favorite mixing environment.

Prices and compatibility
The Softube Overstayer M-A-S plug-in is now available for an introductory price of USD 199. The British Class A plug-in is on sale for USD 99. These prices are good through October 7, 2021, after which the prices will increase to USD 249 (Overstayer) and USD 225 (British Class A).
The plug-ins run on macOS 10.13 or higher and Windows 10 or higher in VST, VST3, AU and AAXformats (64 bit). You need an iLok account or 2nd-gen iLok key for activation.
