Shure is launching the AONIC line of wireless headphones and earphones at CES 2020. The Shure AONIC 50 wireless noise cancelling headphones and AONIC 215 true wireless earphones share much of their technology with Shure’s professional-grade studio headphones and in-ear monitoring earphones.
Shure AONIC 50
According to Shure, the AONIC 50 wireless headphones are inspired by the company’s professional studio headphones. The company says that it focused on balancing ambient sounds and acoustics in order to block out unwanted noise. You can adjust the level of ambient sounds using a free app for iOS and Android. Shure claims that the headphones have 20 hours of battery life. If that’s true, it should be plenty for even the longest of flights. We don’t have the exact specifications yet, but Shure says that they use “the latest Bluetooth technology”.
Shure AONIC 215
The AONIC 215 wireless sound-isolating earphones are based on Shure’s in-ear monitoring technology. Like the headphones, the AONIC 215 earphones are compatible with the free ShurePlus PLAY app for adjustable noise cancelling. According to Shure, the Bluetooth earphones have 8 hours of battery life. Three additional full charges are available from the storage case. Shure says that its goal is to deliver high sound quality in a compact package, with “exceptional comfort and a secure fit”. If you’re looking for an alternative to Apple’s AirPods Pro, the AONIC 215 seem to fit the bill.
If you like Shure headphones and use them in the studio or on stage, you can now enjoy that sound on the go. The company says that the AONIC line was designed to “exceed the industry threshold for quality”, so they’ll hopefully last a while.
Price and availability
While we don’t have the prices yet, Shure says that the AONIC series will become available in the spring of 2020.
