France based Ritual Electronics has revealed a new bunch of 1U Eurorack modules for the increasingly popular format.

Just a U

I like the 1U format. It forces manufacturers into a compact space which tends to offer up simple and useful modules that can greatly enhance a modular setup without taking up much room.

Here’s what they have:

Flexibilité – Expression pedal adapter. Plug in an expression pedal and out comes CV to control things in your rack. It can be unipolar or bipolar. You can also plug in some CV to act as attenuation.

Pointeuse – Momentary footswitch adapter. Use it as a start/stop or as a gate on other signals running through it.

Assembleé – Signal mixer. Takes two inputs with mute switches and combines to a single output. It has a 6 position rotary knob to set how they will be mixed. You can use audio or CV. The outputs are very interesting depending on the selected mode give you a mix of maximum values or minimum values, a combination mix and then the same inverted.

Krach – Noise generator offering white and pink noise.

Répression – A comparator that compares a signal to a threshold and when exceeded it outputs a gate.

Guillotine – hard-clipping stereo distortion module. One big knob for gain and a switch to boost. Nice! You can also plug-in guitars and line-level instruments.

These all look really great and makes me yet again ponder my case choices and wonder how I could integrate some 1U.
