Revv G Series V2: Unbelievable Amp-Like Tones

Revv Amplification has just announced G Series V2, which includes the G2, G3, & G4 pedals in Version 2 format and colour-coded by the amp channels that each pedal recreates.

These three new Revv G Series V2 pedals are officially named the G2V2 (Green), G3V2 (purple), and G4V2 (red).
Each one is based on the channels of the Revv 120 amp, thus the colour-coding for easy recognition. I covered the original launch of the G2 pedal back in 2019, and now the whole range has been revamped and made to sound even better.
We’ll take a look at each Revv G Series V2 pedal individually below. They all share a common control layout and top-mounted jacks. Making them easy to integrate into your existing pedal setup.
G2 V2
The Revv G2V2 pedal was created with top Nashville guitar players to give you lots of different sounds, from a subtle, touch-sensitive grit to a clear, crunchy tone. This updated Version 2 has a circuit that, according to Revv, has been carefully adjusted to make notes bloom, sustain, and sag just right.
Organic Amp Tone
Revv has designed this G Series V2 to give organic, amp-like tones, similar to the Green channel of the Revv G120 amplifier. It is more of a crunch/overdrive in terms of the gain on offer.
The control layout features a 3-way Drive switch (Blue, Red, and Off) that lets you choose different sound styles and how much the signal is pushed. Then Volume, Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs let you dial in your tone to taste.
It is an analog design with a true bypass circuit, which is common across all three pedals in the new V2 Series.

G3 V2
Next up is the G3V2, and this one is higher in gain and has more distortion. Back in 2018, the original Revv G3 pedal changed the game for high-gain sounds, according to Revv.
It offered you the kind of responsive feel and focused, clear, high-gain tones you’d expect from a tube amp. Now, the G3 is back with an updated Version 2 circuit that makes it even better.
Purple Channel
This one is based on the G120’s Purple channel and offers an aggressive, high-gain tone with a tight midrange. It has the same control layout as the G2V2 above, and this time, the 3-position aggression switch gives you more of the good stuff!

G4 V2
Finally, there is the redesigned and refined G4 V2 in red, and this model is based on the red channel that offers stronger low-midrange punch. This updated Version 2 now offers more ways to dial in sounds at lower gain levels.
Chewy
This G Series V2 pedal is like having the Red channel of a Revv G120 amp right on your pedalboard, giving you a thick, chewy distortion with clear, sustained high-gain tones.
It also features a 3-way aggression switch that lets you shape the sound and how saturated the gain gets in different ways.
