Monolith is a Bass Engine that runs in the free Kontakt Player or the full, paid version of Kontakt. It contains 85 groups of high-def basses, subs, orchestral, and synth samples. You can also import your own samples for extended creativity.
The instrument has two layers of raw samples processed using macros, motion, and layered fx chains. The fully-featured presets/sounds browser for each layer has onboard tagging for master presets, cores, and source sounds. Once you discover a sound, you can use the sequence, arp, motion, and FX presets to come up with bass lines.
Macro controls let you adjust multiple parameter layers, including tempo-synced FX macros, arpeggios, and motion sequence programming. There is dynamic playback and a wide variety of playback modes and preset banks. Further on, there are randomization filters to change and randomize only the elements of the sound you want to.
Monolith runs in the free Kontakt Player and is NKS-integrated. The instrument features 5.72GB of uncompressed samples with 350 Master presets and 100+ effects chains. It’s currently priced at USD 99, down from USD 149. Click here to learn more.
Inertia Sound Systems Hinder

According to ISS (the developer), the Bucket Brigade Delay design has “stood the test of time” but it needs to be “kicked up a notch”. The outcome is Hinder, a new delay plug-in whose core is modeled after BBD principles but has the kind of creative features you’d expect out of a modern sound design tool. So vintage delay tone, modern features. Sounds like a very promising combination!
Among Hinder’s features are Separate or Linked Delay Time for the Left and Right Channels, Focused or wider delay effect controls, Feedback LP / HP analog modeled filters, a Feedback Compression module with amount and speed controls, an Overdrive module with HEAT parameter (for the resampling and feedback filters), Delay line modulation (Chorus and Flanger effects), Bit Depth, and Quantisation artifact mix controls.
Hinder is available for Windows 10, macOS 10.12+, and Linux (GLIBC 2.29) in 64-bit VST, VST3, and AU formats. The introductory price is EUR 40. Click here to learn more.
FABRICVERB (Coming Soon)
Developer Vegas Audio announced a new reverb plug-in called FABRICVERB – a collaboration with Fabric London. The convolution reverb plug-in lets users get the signature thumping sound of the UK’s most famous nightclub in their productions. The developers approached things in a familiar way, recording sine sweeps through each sound system in each room.
In total, users can click through 21 different points within the nightclub, including the booths. That ought to sound interesting! Check out some audio samples below and head here to learn more.
