Charvel DK24 HH 2PT CM
If you don’t think you can pull off (fnarr, fnarr) the Slime Green Bengal of the new 2019 Charvel Satchel signature model, then these two may be more to your taste. More refined and Custom Shop quality, they booth ooze cool. I’d imagine you could still ‘melt faces’ with them though.
These guitars use select alder bodies with a sculpted heel and a scalloped lower back for better upper fret access. These come in either Oxblood or Satin White finishes, which I like the look of, hard to choose which one though.
They come fitted with a two-piece bolt-on quartersawn caramelised maple ‘Speed’ neck with graphite reinforcement for strength and a hand-rubbed urethane finish, so they should feel super slinky. These necks are 12”-16” compound radius and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets to help aid your bends and vibrato and Luminlay inlays. These are then adorned with pearl dot inlays and a GraphTech TUSQ XL nut.
Outfitted with a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups, directly mounted to the body. They come with a Full Shred SH-10B in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1N neck pickup.
Wired via a five-way blade switch, two-way series/parallel toggle-switch, plus the Volume and a notched ‘no-load’ Tone controls. When fully engaged the Tone control is out the circuit, a handy notch lets you know that this is the case.
It is all quality branded stuff and includes a Gotoh Custom 510 recessed tremolo bridge with titanium saddles and big brass block. Sperzel locking tuners hold everything tight and in tune as well.
These new pro spec guitars look very nice indeed. I’d like to see them with a set of Fishman Fluence pickups loaded in though, as I think that could be a lot of fun!
