Mooer has not released much in the bass sector so far, but the manufacturer is all the more respected for its entry-level pedals and guitars. So, the release of the Mooer MBJ 410 is great news for bassists: an affordable Jazz Bass alternative!

Preci or Jazz Bass? This question has been a defining one in the bass community. If you belong to the latter camp and are looking for an entry-level model with excellent value for money, take a closer look at the Mooer MBJ 410. In recent years, Mooer has built up a growing fan base with its advanced multi-effect pedals and modern electric guitars at affordable prices.

The MBJ 410 should fit right in. Let’s start with the most striking feature: the look. In my opinion, this finish, called Metal Blue (including the headstock), is a real feast for the eyes. Add to that this pickguard is mint green and you get quite a sexy disco look!

Mooer uses poplar for the body and roasted maple for the fretboard and bolt-on neck (C profile). The scale length is 34 inches, the fretboard radius is 12 inches, and there are 21 frets, similar to higher-end J-style models. A bone saddle and dual-action steel truss rod round off the high-quality impression of this model.

Hardware and Elektronics

In terms of hardware, Mooer uses its own BTN-1 closed tuners and a BSC-2 bridge, all with a chrome finish. For pickups, they’ve installed two VBJ-1 single coils (middle and bridge), all in JB style.

Both can be adjusted with separate volume controls, while the global tone control provides sound shaping options. As with its larger counterpart, there is no switch for changing pickups.

How Much Does the Mooer MBJ 410 cost?

You can get the Mooer MBJ 410 Metal for 299 euros at Thomann*. A gig bag from Mooer is included, and the bass should available for delivery in one to two weeks.
