Krotos, maker of the innovative Reformer sound design plug-in, has announced Reformer Pro. The new version improves on the original concept with the ability to analyse and design sounds in real-time using your own material. The X/Y pad lets you blend up to four sound libraries together, customizing response times for each source while tweaking playback speed and volume.
If you aren’t familiar with Reformer, the gist of it is performing pre-analyzed sound libraries using any audio input in real-time. As is the case with most audio mangling software out there, some pretty wicked and twisted sounds become possible. With Reformer Pro, each library of sounds you creat can hold up to 1GB of audio samples. Each library can have its individual parameters set, such as response times, playback speed, and volume.
Otherwise, this is very much Reformer as you knew it back in June 2017 when it was first released. Reformer Pro is 100% compatible with sound libraries for the original Reformer, which means whatever libraries you purchased or intend to purchase will still be available to you. There’s a free demo available for Reformer Pro, so grab ahold of it and start experimenting. Some unexpectedly cool stuff’s bound to happen!
