Kemper has now officially released its new Profiler Rig Editor for iPadOS, announcing that it works on all versions of the Profiler system. Coming hot on the heels of the recent Fuzz features added with OS 8.2, the new version of editor is helping to turn 2021 into an exciting year for Kemper Profiler owners.
Kemper Profiler Rig Editor for iPadOS
Yes! You can now use the new Profiler Rig Editor on all versions of Kemper’s Profiler system. Awesome! But there’s one caveat: you will need an Apple iPad. So if you own an Apple tablet, visit the Apple App Store and download your copy now. You will also need to be running the public beta of OS 8.5 on your Profiler. With the new app, Head, Rack and Stage users can now control their unit with a touch screen interface remotely.
What, no Android?
Kemper has yet to include support for iPhone or Android phones, however, so you won’t be able to carry the Editor app around in your pocket any time soon. Many Kemper fans are complaining via social media about the lack of Android support, so not everyone is happy. But I suspect we may see developments there in the future. I know Apple is probably easier to develop for, as it has built-in drivers and a standardised operating system due to Apple’s walled garden architecture. Android is more open-ended, with more variables that can increase the development overhead.
- You will need an Apple iPad running iPadOS 13.0 or later and your Profiler requires the 8.5 Public Beta OS. I’ve put all the links below and remember it is a Beta version and so back up your work before you update!
