JOYO has announced their brand new Ironloop JF-329 looper pedal. This addition to the Ironman Series of mini-pedals will give you up to 20 minutes of recording time!
The Ironman Series came out last year and this new addition looks pretty neat, compact and packs a lot of recording time into that little box. The recording time is uncompressed 16-bit, 44.1 KHz audio, which means it should keep your guitar’s dynamics intact nicely and has an über-simple control interface encompassing only one footswitch and one Level control knob.
The footswitch sets up the loop start and end points and you then dial in your desired volume. That should get you up and running ridiculously quickly. The lights around the Level control knob will indicate how far along the recording has gone, and provides an easy-to-see visual indication of where you are in recording times.
The little ‘Ironman’-style visor comes down to protect the level knob, echoing the same design of the rest of the Ironman series of effects pedals. I think for the money it could give the popular TC Ditto looper a run for its money. It should be one to watch out for if you are in the market for a basic yet functional looper pedal for your rig.
The TC Ditto has been the looper of choice for many players for a while now, so this new cheaper unit could take some sales away from TC. I know I would be tempted at this price point, and as looper pedals are becoming more and more popular, well, you would be foolish to not check one of these Ironloop pedals, given the price.
