The EHX Lizard Queen has been two years in the making and comes from a collaboration with JHS Pedals. Available in two versions including a limited edition big box and a standard nano version.

EHX Lizard Queen

The Lizard Queen was originally designed, in secret, as a loving tribute to the historic sound and design of the iconic Electro-Harmonix effects of the 1970s-1980s by Josh Scott of JHS Pedals. An octave fuzz distortion that never was, but which takes its inspiration from those classic EHX pedals.

Limited Edition

A limited edition version limited to 1000 pieces is available from JHS and will no doubt sell out today.

Controls

The Volume sets the output level. Balance sets the balance of the tone between the Shadow and Sun sounds. Shadow is a smoother sustaining Big Muff PI sound while Sun is a raspy, biting gated fuzz sound.

The Balance control behaves very differently depending on the Octave level. Finally, Octave sets the octave-up blend level.

It also comes with a retro-style manual and a Certificate of Authenticity that looks like an old receipt with your name on it. Which is JHS’ attempt to stop people from buying and flipping them on auction sites.

MSRP – USD 349

Nano

The Electro Harmonix Nano version is a standard run and sounds pretty much exactly the same. This version is a modern-day EHX enclosure and will get the same octave fuzz distortion tone.

It has a 1970s Electro-Harmonix graphic designed by Daniel Danger, but thankfully it is a modern true-bypass effect.
