The new Gibson Chuck Berry 1955 ES-350T model has now been released, after being debuted earlier this year at Winter NAMM. Now it is available and you can order yours today.
Chuck Berry 1955 ES-350T
The new Gibson Chuck Berry 1955 ES-350T is a truly limited edition, hand-built guitar. This model hasn’t been made since 1955 and 1956, because after that the company moved to humbuckers.
Chuck’s original guitar was made in 1955 and from highly figured quilted maple and so this recreation follows the exact specifications of Berry’s original guitar. The neck is also maple with a rosewood fretboard fitted with split parallel inlays.
This new limited run guitar is a historically accurate reconstruction, including all the hardware of the original and a pair of dog-ear P-90 pickups and a gold-plated tail piece.
The case comes with a replica strap as well as a copy of the Zuni “Sun God” tie that Chuck wore throughout the 1950s. This limited edition guitar will be available starting on 18 October, which just so happens to coincide with Chuck Berry’s birthday. You can hear Chuck’s son Charles Berry Jr talking about the guitar in the official Gibson video below.
It is a guitar that celebrates a guitar legend and one of the pioneers of rock and roll. No, it won’t be cheap, but hell, it is sweet! You will need to visit an authorised Gibson dealer to put in an order for one of these limited run models, so if you fancy one don’t drag your feet.
