Fender’s new Brad Paisley Road Worn Telecaster is the result of a collaboration between the American Country artist and the Californian guitar manufacturer – that has a lot of, er, sparkle!

Specifications

First off, the specs: this Tele is made from a lightweight, resonant paulownia centre core with spruce top and back which are loaded with a set of two single-coil pickups – a custom-wound ’64 Tele bridge pickup and Twisted Tele neck pickup.

The neck is a custom ‘Enhanced V’ shape, has a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard and comes loaded with 22 medium jumbo frets. The guitar comes with a deluxe gig bag and is included in the price, though it would have been nice to get a hard case. Of course, you’ll have to be comfortable with all that silver of course.

Road Worn

Whatever your first gut reaction to this design, you cannot deny that this guitar will certainly turn heads. The road worn, silver sparkle styling is a sight to behold. You’ll either love it or hate it! It is based upon one of Brad’s own Telecasters, so if you are a fan you may well want one just for this reason alone.

I must say that I quite like the overall look of the guitar, it looks kind of cool. The custom silver paisley pickguard looks good to my eye and the ageing/relic work isn’t too over the top.

Overall, for the money I reckon it’s a pretty good buy, with some nice custom features. Because Brad has opted for a lightweight guitar it should please many players looking to gig all night with it, as it will save their backs!
