The EVH 5150 Iconic Series 15W EL34 1X10 Combo is the latest all-tube offering from the brand started by the late Eddie Van Halen and offers his signature tone in a compact format.

Guitarists looking for powerful tone in a compact package will be interested in the new 5150 Iconic Series 15-watt 1×10 combo amplifier.
EVH Gear had acclaimed amp engineer James Brown design this combo. It features a single EL34 power tube and a sophisticated hybrid preamp section driven by two ECC83 tubes, promising ample firepower for contemporary guitar styles.
Essentially, they have distilled down the full EVH 5150III stack tone and put it into a combo format with a custom-designed EVH 10” Celestion speaker.
Two Channels
Despite its smaller size, the 5150 Iconic Series combo offers a surprising amount of tonal flexibility with its two channels, each featuring an additional voicing option.
The Green channel can transition from clean sounds to higher-gain textures with the simple press of an overdrive button. For more aggressive tones, the Red channel incorporates a “burn” button, designed to deliver a searing crunch well-suited for lead playing.
Controls
Independent gain and volume controls for each channel enable players to easily balance the volume levels when switching between clean and high-gain sounds. Further shaping the amplifier’s sound are a shared three-band EQ (Low, Mid, High), along with global resonance and presence controls that allow for fine-tuning the low and high frequencies.
Along with a global reverb control for when you need some added space to your amp tone.
Useful Extras
The combo comes with a single-button footswitch for channel selection and an effects loop. Dual parallel speaker output jacks offer connectivity for extension cabinets.
A convenient ¼ power switch allows players to reduce the wattage, achieving cranked-amp tones at lower volumes suitable for home practice. For direct recording or connection to a PA system, a speaker-emulated D.I. output jack with a power amp mute is also included.
