Electro-Harmonix announces the 5MM pedal, a power amp for your pocket
Electro-Harmonix have launched a dinky little power amp: the 5MM Guitar Power Amplifier! This pocket-sized power amp could be perfect for players that need to travel light.

Electro-Harmonix has just announced yet another new product, this time a diminutive 5MM Power Amp pedal. This super-compact 2.5-watt power amp can drive any 8 or 16-ohm speaker. That makes it very handy for all sorts of scenarios.
The 5MM Power Amp features a single Volume control and a Bright switch which, when engaged, adds presence to the overall signal. It all looks very easy to set up and use.

Preamp?
Ideally, you will need to pair this little amp up with some kind of preamp or overdrive pedal, that is, if you want any gain tones. The 5MM Power Amplifier also comes with its own power supply included in the yet unannounced price.
If it is cheap enough, then I think this could be perfect for a small pedalboard for either home or studio use for example. You could even carry one in your gig bag as a backup, if your main amp goes sideways!
