Earthquaker Devices Utilities: 4 into 1 or 1 into 4!
Earthquaker Devices Utilities expands with two new products
Earthquaker Devices has added two more units to their range of utilities; the Four To One Mixer and One To Four Splitter allow for some very useful experiments in routing.
Earthquaker Devices Utilities
Earthquaker Devices Utilities series comprises a whole suite of useful tools for creativity and expanding the way musicians can route their sound. Now, they have added two more products to this great line of pedals and expansion tools.

Four to One Mixer
The Four to One Mixer is set to simplify signal blending for musicians. This compact 4-channel mixer boasts independent level controls and selectable phase for each channel, offering precise manipulation of audio sources.
Simple, Yet Very Effective
Designed with signal fidelity in mind, the Four to One Mixer features a high 1 MOhm input impedance and a low 100 Ohm output impedance. This looks like it could be a great tool for quickly blending and manipulating multiple sound sources, not just guitars. Making to perfect for synths, microphones, and more.

Compact & Robust
I like the simple, compact, robust design of this little mixer and could see myself using one both in the studio and live. Sometimes, I just don’t need multiple options, bussing, inserts, swept mid-EQ, and phantom power. So, for me, this is a great-looking tool for getting results fast.

One to Four Splitter
Next up is the One to Four Splitter, and this practically does the opposite of the mixer. Perfect for repeating your signal four times!
At the heart of the One to Four Splitter are its unity gain buffers on each output, meticulously engineered to deliver maximum punch and clarity. These buffered outputs boast a flat frequency response, coupled with a high 1 MOhm input impedance and a low 100 Ohm output impedance.
Mono & Stereo
Essentially, you could have 4 mono, or two stereo outs, or 2 mono and one stereo, etc. It is a simple unit, yet I feel it could offer some very useful routing options for guitarists, especially if you have multiple amps, effects or recording inputs, etc.
Creativity x 4
Whether you’re looking to send a single guitar signal to multiple amplifiers, create parallel effects chains, or simply distribute an audio source across various destinations without any loss in quality, the One to Four Splitter offers an easy-to-use to use and transparent solution.
Perfect for effect pedal junkies and any musician who wants to experiment.

Selling two different boxes, one for splitting and a different (more expensive) one for summing smacks of presenting a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.
You can achieve the same thing with the cheaper box, the user either routing the audio 1>4 or 4>1, depending on what they’re doing.
In my early days of learning to record, I had a simple Boss 4:1, 1/4 inch box and used it for both summing and splitting, depending on what I was doing. It worked just fine.
Summing and splitting circuits are different.
You’re welcome.
