Watch out, Les Paul fans! We recently picked up on a deal being offered on the Gibson Melody Maker Michael Clifford Signature. Now we hear news of another deal currently at Thomann on Gibson Les Paul models with Satin Honey Burst and Satin Cherry Burst series from the 2019 Tribute series, both of which are reduced in price. These guitars are made using lightweight construction techniques, cutting a slim figure despite the mahogany body. We also have a very special American model in Satin Gold to show you, too…
DEAL: Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2019
Gibson’s Les Paul Tribute 2019 series guitars are designed to capture the aura, feel and tonality of traditional Les Paul models. These models have maple necks, which is not what you would call ‘traditional’, although Norlin-era LPs did have them. Another change from the original Les Paul recipe is the chambering used here to reduce weight.
The body is made of mahogany, with a maple top and neck. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. Two 490R and 490T humbucking pickups with Alnico II magnets should give you that classic sound. The buyer feedback is pretty positive, with owners impressed with powerful sound and good playability.
The prices of the formerly more expensive versions in Satin Honey Burst and Satin Cherry Burst have now been reduced. Instead of 1149 or 1099, they now cost 998 Euros or 879 Pounds
Satin Gold limited run
A special little number among the three guitars of this Satin Gold version. This gold top Les Paul model was previously not available in Europe and was originally custom-made for an American guitar shop. According to Thomann, this model also has “ultra modern weight relief ”. For me, it looks like a damn tasty rock guitar, especially at this price point.
