Soundspot Axis is a multi-band processor featuring compressor, imager and metering modules. Axis divides the input signal into four bands for independent processing. The compressor is capable of simultaneous upward and downward compression, as well as parallel compression. This means that it can do some pretty cool things to your mix, such as adding punch and clarity.
The imaging module offers mid/side panning, a stereo widener and mono maker, which can be applied to each individual band. According to the developer, this module lets you position audio signals in a variety of ways, in order to clean up the mix. Finally, there’s the metering module, which provides per-band metering and gain leveling, as well as an RMS meter.
Each module offers band isolation and band bypass options, so you can work on individual bands without the others getting in the way.
