BluGuitar Amp X: 100% Analog Amp with Digital Controls
The last hybrid amp, you'll ever need?

It sounds almost too good to be true. Thomas Blug has finally announced the BluGuitar Amp X for 2026. Is this the last amp we will ever need? We try to clarify what the floor amp can do.
BluGuitar Amp X
It’s finally here. Thomas Blug is thrilled to finally present his futuristic amp. Visually, the BluGuitar Amp X is reminiscent of the cockpit of a Boeing 747 or something straight from NASA. That’s because the Amp X houses extremely sophisticated technology that combines the best of the analog and digital worlds.
With the BluGuitar Amp X, the signal flow remains 100% analog from input to output. This is a decisive advantage that enables the authentic reproduction of the dynamics and warmth of analog sounds.

The proprietary Neural Analog Amp design of the AMP X opens up entirely new dimensions in sound processing. Instead of using digital sound analysis and reproduction, you can edit and save analog circuit parameters at the component level, like using a “virtual soldering iron” for analog amp tuning. So, in essence, the AMP X is a hybrid analog–digital amplifier, where the entire signal path remains analog. That means, above all, no latency, because no A/D or D/A conversion happens in the signal path.
Effects and BlugPRINTs
The BluGuitar AMP X is a complete guitar system that also includes pedals, effects, and speaker simulations. These can be implemented in both analog and digital forms, depending on which technology best suits the sound in question. It’s also a 100-watt power amplifier.
You get even more sounds with so-called BlugPRINTs, by downloading additional effects from an ever-growing online sound library and installing them on your device. These digital files change the analog circuit parameters of the AMP X, giving you a 100% authentic reproduction of the original amp or effects pedal.

There is also an extensive range of connections on the rear panel. There are two speaker outputs (8 ohms and 16 ohms), a pair of balanced XLR outputs, a mono FX Loop, an additional TRS stereo line output, a 5-pin MIDI-Input, and ports for remote controls.
Price and Availability
While we’re glad that Thomas Blug has finally shown the world what the BluGuitar AMP X is all about, there are still some crucial things unknown. Most importantly the price and availability.
For the latter Blug promises a release of the AMP X in 2026 in the video above. As for its price, BlugGuitar estimates it to cost “€1,990.- in Europe and $1,990.- in the US“
