Blackhole Cases has a new special edition portable Eurorack case called THREE that they are releasing in collaboration with Afrorack and you can win one in a raffle by donating to Afrorack’s educational program.

THREE

Blackhole Cases operate out of Cincinnati Ohio and was started by modular and DIY enthusiast Aaron Hardy in 2018. A combination of interest in Eurorack and woodworking is a winning combination when it comes to case making.

The cases are handmade, rugged and beautiful. Currently, there’s the tasty looking SIX, a 6U 60HP case made from Baltic birch, covered in a rugged textured coating and features an integrated power supply, and the sublime SUB_SIX which is slimmer at 50HP and comes unpowered.

The THREE, as you can probably imagine, is a 3U case, 60HP wide and made in the same formidable style as the other two. It’s designed to be ultra-portable, compact and durable with guitar strap nuts for ease of carrying. It was created for students at Afrorack which is a project in Chicago dedicated to providing children and young adults of colour access to modular synthesizers and sound design tools. They now want to make THREE available to everyone and they will be donating a portion of each sale to the work of Afrorack.

Raffle

To celebrate the release Blackhole Cases are raffling off a brand new THREE case. To enter all you need to do is make a donation to Afrorack between the 1st and 8th of July and send them a copy of the Paypal receipt.

It’s a great looking case and perfect for taking that little bit of modular around with you. It looks like along with the white it will be available in some rather nice shades of blue and green.

THREE will be released on July 9th – not sure of the price yet but at the SUB_SIX is $250 I would imagine it would be somewhere between $100-$200.
