Audified presents AmpLion 2 Rock Essentials, a further development of its multi-effects tool for guitarists. With it you can put together combinations of different virtual amps, cabinets and floor kicks for a pedalboard. You can also determine the microphones yourself. This new version has been rewritten from scratch. The main focus was on the improved richness of detail in the emulations, new interesting features and a new look.
Audified AmpLion 2 Rock Essentials
Audified describes the new AmpLion 2 effect plug-in as “A gear collection based exclusively on absolute rock staples!” And that’s exactly what it is, a potential one-stop solution for your DAW virtual guitar rig. The original version of the multi-effects plug-in was released back in 2011, so this is a long time coming, and one more reason that the developer had to do a complete re-write of the original with version 2.
You get three ‘legendary’ amps, four cabinets, 15 effects pedals and ten microphones included as virtual models in the package. You can then freely combine these with each other to build your own “Rock Rig”. This is achieved with content modelling, so impulse responses are used here for the sound generation of the various speaker emulations.
The tool can be used live and with (almost) zero latency. For guitarists this is, of course, a big plus. There are several such “all-in-one” plug-ins on the market like NI Guitar Rig and IK Multimedia’s Amplitube. But most of these require you to invest a lot more money and often have in-app purchases on top of the standard price. If you are interested, you should check the demos in advance to see if this is the sound you want in the studio.
