API Vision Plus: The Ideal Immersive Mixing Console
The latest version of API's surround-friendly analogue console.
The API Vision Plus is the latest evolution of the renowned Vision Console, available in up to 96-channel format with a range of modern enhancements.
First introduced back in 2003, the API Vision Console is a high-end, large-format, completely discrete in-line analogue recording and mixing console. The key idea behind the Vision is that it was designed to be a classic analogue console that lets you move seamlessly between stereo and surround workflows.
API Vision Plus
The new Vision+ is available in 32-, 48-, 64-, 80-, or 96-channel frame options and keeps all the original Vision cornerstones, while adding serious upgrades to the input module, automation system, center section, and the physical frame design. As we mentioned, the in-line signal path is implemented with two 100 mm motorized faders per channel.
Also, there are 24 track buses, three stereo buses, one master bus, 10 aux sends, and stereo/LCR/surround panning modes on each channel, as well as high-pass filters on input and monitor signal paths. Meanwhile, you have the option of installing API EQ modules across all channels, and the central control section provides eight playback selections, the option to install the 2500+C bus compressor, and three surround monitor outs, each with solo and mute.
The Final Touch Automation system has been upgraded with a dual-touchscreen control module for a streamlined workflow. In addition, there is DAW control integration with HUI and MCU control protocols, so the motorized faders can become a control surface for your DAW. Like the consoles of yesteryear, the automation system allows standalone operation without needing any additional hardware.
Within the input module, the drive circuit of the faders has been upgraded and now features touch calibration. What’s more, the alt-line input mode provides double the amount of line inputs while mixing down, which adds considerable flexibility. Overall, the Vision+ is built to be the perfect main studio console for mixing commercial music and motion picture projects.
