ADPTR AUDIO SCULPT offers four processors running in parallel: a transparent Upward compressor, a more traditional Downward Compressor, and two SCULPT sections Tonal and Transient. They are useful for refining elements in mix and master buses, or sculpting details in audio tracks and instrument groups.

The Upward Compression module offers transparent dynamic control while the Downward Compressor is a more conventional dynamics processor control. The Tone SCULPT section accentuates or suppresses specific aspects of your audio while the Transient SCULPT module manipulates the onset of each sound – in effect, controlling its sonic envelope.

Each module has its own mute, solo and output meter so you can compare the dry and processed audio. Moreover, the modules have frequency controls to change how SCULPT analyzes incoming signal. They function as sidechain EQ controls within the compressor modules, as tonal balance controls within the Tone SCULPT module, and as transient selection controls within the Transient SCULPT module. Watch the video or try the demo and it’ll make sense. Each module comes with low and high-shelf filters and a Spectrum Tilt EQ as well.

The Tone SCULPT module includes a tonal balance graph displaying the frequency balance of tracks in real-time. Notably, SCULPT doesn’t apply frequency-dependent processing. It affects input gain on a sample-by-sample basis for more transparent results.

SCULPT also uses a proprietary Envelope Detection Algorithm modeled after human hearing. This makes it more responsive than conventional dynamics processing and enables distortion-free operation, even with super-fast attack and release settings. Another notable achievement is the makeup gain algorithm which does level matching based on frequency response analysis. Thus, A/B signals are accurately level-matched for more reliable comparisons. Finally, a Master Mixer Panel provides a bypass control, wet/dry mix knob, and Mid / Side processing options.

Price and availability info for ADPTR AUDIO SCULPT

The plug-in will be up for sale on March 3rd. Until then, it is available in full for subscribers to Plugin Alliance’s MIX & MASTER, and MEGA bundles. A free 14-day trial version is always open to everyone. SCULPT works in 64-bit AAX Native, AU, AAX AudioSuite, VST2, and VST3 formats under macOS 10.9 and Windows 7 or later.
