The first notable enhancement is, of course, the speaker system itself. When compared to the previous model, the Stockwell III is powered by a total of 127W of Class D amplification with a 3-inch low-end woofer (65W) that goes down to 54 Hz and two 1.75-inch drivers (31W each) delivering a maximum SPL of 86 dB.

More Information

The Stockwell III also introduces a feature called Dynamic Loudness that compensates for the levels of the low-end, midrange, and high frequencies for optimum clarity at any volume level. With over 40 hours of playback time, the battery life has doubled, and you can now charge your smartphone from the Stockwell III when you need some extra juice.

The build quality has also been improved, offering enhanced resistance to dust and water (IP55). Meanwhile, parts like the battery, silicone sleeve, carry strap, and grilles can now be purchased separately and replaced to extend the lifespan of the Stockwell III. Naturally, with all these improvements, it makes one far more inclined to enjoy it outdoors.

The onboard control set has also been upgraded along with the Bluetooth connectivity (5.3 LE), which is Auracast ready. Overall, the Stockwell III provides plenty of value at the same price as its predecessor, with a more powerful and durable unit that is more fun to use than ever, and the extended battery life makes it even more trip-worthy.

    $250?
Okay, I get it. Marshall isn’t what it used to be and is deeply invested in the consumer audio market. But for gods sake, how weird is it to look at a guitar cabinet looking speaker with “MARSHALL” logo slapped on it? All this without the ability to plug in your guitar for simple single channel marshall’ish solid state tone? Sure, this would be added extra cost and most probably would sound awful but half of that $250 is probably just for the logo anyway. Damn..
