Software Deals: Moog Virtual Summer Tour
Until 3 August, you can get nearly 50% off the Moog Music Moogerfooger effects with the Moog Virtual Summer Tour at Thomann. This offer includes discounts on the complete Moogerfooger bundle of eight plugins, now at $149, and the Custom Bundle 4, which gives you a choice of any four of these delicious effects for only $89.

The individual plugins in the Moogerfooger lineup are going for $29 each, and this includes the MF-104S Analog Delay, the MF-102S Ring Modulator, the MF-101S Lowpass Filter, the MF-105S MuRF, the MF-103S 12-Stage Phaser, the MF-108S Cluster Flux, the MF-107S Freqbox, and the MF-109S Saturator.
These Moogerfooger effects can be used in so many situations to add a touch of colour and animation to guitars, synths, and vocals, or to completely reshape a drum loop to give it a different rhythmic and sonic character. While some of the plugins can be used for simple tone adjustments, others allow complex modulation but still remain easy to use. Shop the Moog Virtual Summer Tour at Thomann.*

Software Deals: SSL Blitzer
Until 22 July, you can save 65% on the SSL Blitzer compressor plugin at Thomann. If you prefer an uncomplicated approach to compression, Blitzer is a great plugin that you will probably end up using on everything from vocals to synths, guitars, and drums. Although it’s simple, Blitzer is packed from top to bottom with features for almost any application.

For starters, it provides metering and I/O gain controls, as well as a handy auto-gain feature and a mix control for parallel processing. When you’re working with individual channels or groups, the Drive control lets you add colour and warmth, while the Transients control emphasizes the initial snap of drums and guitars.
With the Blitz button, you can introduce a vintage brickwall limiting effect, similar to the “all buttons in” trick used on the 1176. The Blitzer also has both external and internal sidechain capabilities, so you can use the sidechain high-pass filter to preserve your low-end and trigger the compressor with another signal in your DAW. Get it at Thomann.*
