The new Electro-Voice EVOLVE 70 and 90 column systems deliver enough power for events and concerts with audiences of up to 500 people. The manufacturer focuses on mobility, quick installation, excellent audio quality, and decent volume. The new PA system is available for pre-order now and is available in white and black.
Electro-Voice EVOLVE 70 and 90 Column Systems
EVOLVE 70 and 90 are two new additions to the Electro-Voice family. The column systems are designed for bands, performers, DJs, promoters, and anyone who needs to provide sound for events with up to 500 people.
The Electro-Voice EVOLVE 70 delivers 133 dB SPL and features a 15-inch subwoofer, while the EVOLVE 90 features an 18-inch subwoofer and 134 dB SPL. The smaller model covers low frequencies down to 35 Hz, while the EVOLVE 90 covers low frequencies down to 28 Hz.
4.7-inch neodymium drivers in both models deliver 120-degree wide dispersion via special waveguides, complemented by 25-degree asymmetrical vertical dispersion. Digital filters ensure linear frequency response and phase accuracy. This performance is combined with a laminar flow venting system and large voice coils, which, according to the manufacturer, ensure impressive audio performance.
Versatile Connectivity and Quick Configuration
Both new Electro-Voice column systems offer a wide range of connectivity options. You’ll find two combo inputs for XLR and jack, a stereo input for XLR and RCA, an XLR connection for AES/EBU, and a thru connection for AES/EBU. Even Bluetooth connections are supported! On the output side, there are sub and mix outputs, each with XLR connectors.
Configurations can be made via the QuickSmart app using a smartphone or tablet. In addition, the two active column speaker systems offer DSP functions such as Music, Live, Speech, and Club, as well as effects such as compressor and talkover tone control.
The new systems, like the rest of the series, are designed to be easy to transport and install. Called “EVOLVE 3-2-1,” the assembly concept promises that the individual components can be assembled with just two clicks. Very nice!
In addition to complete sets consisting of subwoofer, column speaker array and spacer, the individual subwoofers are also available.
