In only 10 years, the Polish synth manufacturer Polyend has had a major global impact within the tightly knit music producer community. By pushing a unique design approach, the design of Polyend instruments inspires you from different creative angles, and the Tracker Mini is certainly an embodiment of this philosophy.
Polyend Tracker Mini 10th Anniversary Edition
This limited version of the Tracker Mini is built to last. Besides the rugged precision-machined aluminium casing, it features newly redesigned buttons and a high-contrast glass display. This means that the Tracker Mini’s ‘take me anywhere’ attitude is stronger than ever, and these fantastic beatmaking devices will provide you with endless hours of fun.
Naturally, the Anniversary Tracker Mini retains all the same features as the original, including the ever-giving gift of new firmware updates with the new and exciting features that Polyend cooks up each year. The Anniversary Tracker Mini is built to order in either a silver or black aluminium finish, and you can reserve yours directly from Polyend for a total price of $998, excluding shipping.
Included in the $199 deposit is the Polyend Palletes sample pack, which gives you a wide range of sounds to choose from. You can place your order from now until 1 August, and shipping is expected to commence from late November, just in time for the holidays.
We are very happy where the Tracker Mini is today. We’ve kept improving it with regular updates, adding features our users have asked for, like synth engines and note input mode. But for our tenth anniversary, we wanted to do something special that reflects our roots. We revisited the core of our design philosophy and are creating a small batch of refined, all-aluminium instruments, without the compromises that come with large-scale production. It’s a reflection of what we’ve learned in the past 10 years, made to order for the people who’ve supported us through this journey.

Polyend Tracker Mini Firmware 2.0 is a Monster Update!
Now in version 2, the Polyend Tracker Mini Firmware gives the handheld beat station a wide range of new creative features and enhancements.
If you’ve made your thoughts public on user forums, the Polish manufacturer, Polyend, has been listening. From interface improvements and utilities to creative expansion, the Firmware 2.0 Update is an exciting prospect.
Polyend Tracker Mini Firmware 2.0
The Tracker Mini will now have more sound creation power, with four new synth engines and a drum synthesis engine with seven channels per kit. With great power comes more advanced control of synth parameters, with a new editor and the addition of Macro Controls.
With the sequencer, you now have eight more MIDI and Synth tracks and up to 16 tracks in Song Mode. This allows you to immediately incorporate the new sound generators into your current projects while maintaining the original sounds.
Furthermore, USB connectivity has been expanded with 14 Stereo USB tracks and USB Mass Storage allows you to quickly manage your projects and samples. Meanwhile, the Mixer has been improved with controls for each of the synth engines.

Polyend Tracker Mini: A Poly in your pocket
Like the Tracker, the Mini also provides 8 sequencer tracks, 256 patterns, and 128 Steps per pattern. Besides the 5-inch LCD display and the battery that gives you 8 hours of playtime, the Mini has a few tricks up its sleeve.
For starters, the Mini features a high-quality built-in microphone and the capability for working with stereo samples, with up to 8 minutes of mono sample pool memory.
The Mini also functions as an interface giving you audio over USB, which is actually a function lacking on the Tracker. As a practical device, it weighs only 350g and ships with a hard carry case to protect it from bumps on the road.
Overall, a compact device like this offering such extensive music production features is simply astonishing. While it is in a similar price range to the larger Tracker, it’s certainly justified because the specs are so similar.

oh my. That is exciting news. Out of all the ultra portable studio… this might be the most useable one
As fun as this looks 700 euro is a joke. This and the previous version are woefully underpowered as trackers, particularly when you can pick up Renoise and and old laptop for less than 200€
Renoise is certainly a lot better and more powerful. Possibly the best modern-day Tracker of the lot.

Dirty wave M8 is the obvious contender. More portable, more onboard synths, more fx, more assignable lfo options , … Potential buyers should compare. Still love the original tracker, so an upgraded version will surely be great as well.
Does the M8 have a performance mode like the OG tracker? Also, the screen looks very tiny.

Dirtywavy M8 specs outstrip Polyend Mini in most departments, and adds a bunch of synth engines to boot (besides just samples).
Also it has supported stereo samples for quite a while now.
Hmmm. Yes, tried one of these out. Few people seem to have noticed the granular synth, that can be moved in position by an LFO, meaning you can make crazy grooves from drum loops, shift their pitch etc. Also does crazy things with dialogue samples. The mastering limiter has a sidechain input, and there’s a mastering saturation and drive section too, that also work with a signal input. Gets dirty very quick, otherwise a fine multi use little groovebox. £500 would be a bargain price, £550 it’s worth the money. £650 is a bit expensive, but it does sound big, great for DnB, techno, Hip Hop loops or chillout, if you can get your head around the tracker interface.
On their website they dropped the price to 599 USD.
This update makes Tracker Mini such a better device than the M8. Synths from M8 are mostly just open source MI stuff, only 8 tracks and a nightmare to use. Tracker Mini workflow is much more fun.
