Zoom MS-CDR70+

This new MS-CDR70+ joins the recent MS-200D+ and last year’s MS50G+. Zoom has undoubtedly been busy adding new effects and updating these designs. The original MS-CDR70 contained 86 effect emulations based on chorus, reverb, filter and delays.

This new 2024 model has upped the effects to 149 types, and now users have access to 100 memory spaces (the original was 50), making this a huge step up in terms of what it offers. Users can chain up to six effects at once.

More Controls

For all settings, there are now four potentiometers instead of three. In addition, these are now clearly labelled, which makes the operation more straightforward than the small symbols above the three pots of the predecessor. In addition, as with the other two new Plus models, the MS-CDR70+ has four black foot buttons, called cross button switches, arranged around the footswitch.

Colour Coded

The screen now displays different colours depending on the selected effect category. This will significantly help dim stages, helping you find your way around faster. For example, effects like the filters and auto-wahs will appear in orange. In contrast, chorus or delays would appear green or blue.

Stereo

The Zoom MS-CDR70+ has a tuner, stereo input, and output. It can be powered by a battery (up to seven hours), a 9-volt power supply, or USB-C. This USB-C port will eventually allow users to add new effects using Zoom’s iOS mobile guitar app
