Poland based XAOC Devices are holding a charity auction for a series of special edition Eurorack modules featuring Coal Mine black panels and knobs in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

Special Edition

XAOC has put the wheels in motion to auction off some special edition modules. There are five modules on offer including the Zadar, Kamieniec, Katowice, Odessa and Sarajewo. They come with these dark front panels that XAOC are calling “Coal Mine” black that I’ve never seen them use before, and then two of the knobs are in the Ukrainian flag colours of blue and yellow.

It warms my heart to witness the amount of action taken by modular makers to raise awareness of the war in Ukraine and to generate funds to send out to the relief effort. It’s often said that music can change the world but rarely do we see such direct action to support that idea.

XAOC will announce each auction on Instagram over the next few days and they will run for a week. All the prices are set at 10% below retail. The hope is the cause and the special nature of these modules will raise much more. They’ll also come with original knobs and front plate if that fits the look of your system better.

Dam, their starting prices are their….original prices. Or close enough. Still a good go of it but when most of those pedals are sold out everywhere then you see this, you wonder. PLUS- Bidding in the comments? They will be contacting a lot of people per module.

I’m not into modular at all (trying my best to avoid it, for fear of it drawing me in!) but another nice sentiment for a very worthy cause.

I guess Behringer could quite easily do something similar with the TD3 or RD6; yellow knobs on a blue case or blue knobs on a yellow case and then auction them off, for the cause.

    Peace to Ukraine 🇺🇦
