Waves is ending October on a high brow with the release of Waves V11, the latest milestone release of its renowned plug-in collection. There’s plenty of work done to make this one an update well-deserving of attention. Aside from macOS 10.15 Catalina compatibility, V11 brings revamped Renaissance plug-ins, new additions to Waves’ Premium bundles, and what else is there? Oh…

8 revamped Renaissance plug-ins

The Renaissance plug-in bundle receives a design refresh with three UI choices (light, dark, legacy), a completely revised (and more intuitive) GUI for R-Channel, real-time freq analyzers added to R-EQ and R-Channel, and a whopping 700+ new presets from partnering artists. Good stuff!

Free premium

Waves is throwing some freebies at owners of its Premium bundles. These are as follows:

  • Platinum: OneKnob Pumper, MetaFilter, Greg Wells ToneCentric
  • Diamond: OneKnob Pumper, MetaFilter, Greg Wells ToneCentric, Cobalt Saphira
  • Horizon: OneKnob Pumper, MetaFilter, Greg Wells ToneCentric, WLM Plus Loudness Meter
  • Mercury, Pro Show, SD7 Pro Show: Infected Mushroom Pusher

Pulling support for legacy software

As of V11, Waves plug-ins are not supported in MultiRack, SoundGrid Studio and StudioRack. They will be fully supported in the upcoming SuperRack plug-in and eMotion LV1 V10, says Waves.

Touch-ups

Like any major update, V11 delivers performance improvements – notably, loading time, smoother and more accurate visuals, more responsive controls, and a load of bug fixes. Oh, and here’s a kicker – any preset in any plug-in can be set as default now. Took some time, didn’t it?

EQ Curves for Pro Tools

An important addition for Pro Tools and AVID S6 users is EQ Curves support for a bunch of plug-ins – AudioTrack, eMo F2, eMo Q4, F6, GEQ, H-EQ, LinEQ, Q10, RenEQ, RenChannel, RS56. Enjoy your workflow improvements!

NKS Support for 43 plug-ins

Yup, 43 Waves plugs are good to go in your Maschine and Komplete Kontrol-based projects with controls mapped right under your fingers. Complete list here.

Waves Central gets a slimdown

Waves has streamlined its Waves Central software hub for a more intuitive experience that also implements user feedback and suggestions. So don’t be surprised when you see it look a little different.

Calling tech support!

Waves V11 adds personal technical support over phone, email, and TeamViewer to your Waves Update Plan coverage. Coverage also includes new plug-ins for select Waves bundles and a voucher good for any Waves software purchase.

V11 also contains all prior updates included since V10, so it’s as comprehensive an update as it gets. Never too late to get up to speed these days!
