Wavefonix has released a second curated modular system that offers 2 rows of Eurorack goodness in a solid walnut case.
Wavefonix has spent the last couple of years building classic Moog-inspired modules for Eurorack. The designs are smooth, full of vintage vibes and yet refined for modern Eurorack setups. Last year they released the W314 modular system that brought together a row of carefully curated modules that would be a perfect introduction to modular or a vintage sounding modular voice for any studio. Wavefonix has followed it up with the expanded W614 as an elegant 6U modular system.
Within the solid walnut 6U, 104HP case you get 24 modules run by a premium integrated Konstant Lab PSU. This includes two Dual VCOs and a Wavetable VCDO giving you a total of 5 oscillators. There’s a Noise Generator, 3 LFOs, 2 envelopes, a lowpass filter, Quad VCA and a couple of different mixers. There’s a bunch of utilities, a MIDI interface and the very cool 8-Step Sequencer.
Putting together a modular system that works well within itself is no mean feat and more experienced modular users will argue over the spread of utilities and filter choices until the cows come home. However, for someone who wants that modular flavour in their studio, or who wants to add a good chunk of possibility to their existing setup then the W614 could be ideal. Wavefonix is also happy to customise the configuration to your exact requirements.
The price is £2,299.99 excluding VAT which averages the modules out at under £100 each especially when you consider the quality of the case. All W614 systems are made to order and Wavefonix anticipates a 1-2 month lead time.
