The Monumental Harmonic Stereo Tremolo is Walrus Audio’s latest take on the Monument Harmonic Tremolo. As the name suggests, it adds new features, including stereo operation.
Monumental Harmonic Stereo Tremolo
Walrus Audio releases new pedals regularly, and this month, they have opted to announce the Monumental Harmonic Stereo Tremolo. It takes the original Monument Harmonic Tremolo V2 model from 2019, adding stereo operation and some new useful features.
Adding stereo will undoubtedly make this a pretty lush effect, though not every guitarist runs through a stereo rig.
Wave Shapes
The Monumental comes with six wave shapes (Sine, Square, Saw, Ramp (new), Bump, and Random) and five tap divisions: Quarter Note, Quarter Note Triplet, Eighth Note, Eighth Note Triplet (new), and Sixteenth Note.
What’s New?
Apart from the stereo option, Walrus Audio has added new features, including a Pan control to allow the tremolo to sweep from left to right, which makes a lot of sense. Again, this will only really benefit guitarists running stereo rigs.
Users can now save and recall three on-board presets, as well as the live mode. The pedal also has a S-B-H (Stereo, Both, Harmonic) knob, and this allows the user to blend from standard to harmonic tremolo, which could be very useful and create some unique tremolo effects. They also gave it expression control over every parameter of the effect.
Finally, it has the momentary ramp-up or ramp-down function.
Overall, there are some very nice additions. Therefore, it could be worth upgrading for anyone who wants a stereo rig with glorious harmonic tremolo. It can be used in mono; however, stereo is the way forward to get the full effect.
Two Finishes
It is also available on launch in two distinct finishes, one with artwork similar to the Monument and the other a blacked-out version.
