Walrus Audio has collaborated with SNL band guitarist Jared Scharff on a new pedal, the Kangra Filter Fuzz. The Saturday Night Live guitarist is a self-confessed fuzz fanatic. This unit could be a lot of fun!

When a fuzz-obsessed guitarist like Jared Scharff and a pedal company like Walrus Audio get together you expect something special. Well, I think the new Kangra Filter Fuzz pretty much fills that criteria, straight off the bat.
On the filter, I wanted to go for that vintage mpc 3000 low pass type of thing…Or similar to doing a low pass plug-in for a track, or like a dj would do without it being too “wah pedal” like, and this achieved that.” – Jared Scharff

Two Fuzzes are better than one!
Two different styles of fuzz are available, toggled via the M/V Switch. In the ‘Modern’ position marked M, you get a fuzz with a longer and tighter sustain, whilst the ‘Vintage’ position V is more classic and has that lovely ‘splatty’ starved battery tone, with breakup and a grittier, shorter sustain.
Filter Section
The Kangra also has a filter with controls for Resonance, Sensitivity, Frequency and Envelope Filter. You can conjure up all sorts of madness with this lot, especially when combined with either of those two fuzz circuits.
I’m a fan of this company. And I love fuzz pedals. So this new pedal is like crack cocaine to me. My advice is check out the demo videos below to hear the Kangra in action, as it sounds pretty sweet and has lots of potential for fuzz fiends like myself.
