If you’ve used track referencing before, you’ll know how powerful it is as a technique for getting specific parts of your arrangement to hit just right, with energy that builds and releases in all the right places. Ninja AB expands on the basic AB functionality by providing a comprehensive visual map of the loudness patterns and dynamics within a song, section by section.
Once the plugin is inserted on your master bus, you simply hit play, and it goes to work, capturing and mapping out the entire arrangement of your project. When it’s captured, you can read and compare your track in three different ways, including the waveform shape, the RMS true loudness reading, and a multiband mode that allows you to pinpoint where the energy is contained.
With Ninja AB’s GUI, you can focus in on a short section of the track or zoom out for an overview, while the different data readings let you compare specifics and find out exactly where your track is lacking compared to your trusted professional reference track. You can also tag the various sections of your track and sync the plugin with your DAW’s transport.
This means when you jump to the main drop, Ninja AB follows automatically. In addition, to ensure that you’re always making decisions based on accurate comparisons, Ninja AB uses level matching, so reference tracks are equalized at the same level. Meanwhile, there are a few extra tools in the audition panel for soloing the low-end, doing a band filter sweep, or soloing the mid, side, left, or right channels.
