TC Electronic’s new June-60 V2 guitar pedal revamps the internal circuit of the original V1 version with an upgraded stereo output and several extra internal switching options. All of which should add up to make it more versatile than before.

This new incarnation of the TC Electronic June-60 has the ability to work with both synths or guitars, and comes with a variable input level via an internal switch. The June-60 V2 has two yellow buttons on top to select between a nice slow, rich chorus or a faster wobble (or you can press both for an extra mode), and the slider switch selects between mono and TRS stereo output.

LFO speed

I have the original version and it is very useable, but, as I mentioned earlier, the added extras on the June-60 V2 give it the ability to play nice with synths too. You now have an internal dipswitch bank to adjust the LFO speed, which the company claims will get it even closer to the original 1980s Roland Juno synths chorus effect that it is based upon.

Wider Stereo

Plus the stereo circuit has been redesigned for an even wider field and with far more noticeable separation. This is great, as it really comes alive when used in stereo mode and is super-rich. These are BBD based chorus effects and therefore have that lovely old analogue warmth that everyone is always harping on about. The better stereo width should make it sound even tastier.

I’m really happy that you can now use it with synths, as previously I had to put mine through the bus on my mixer to not overload the inputs. Now you can just go direct and have less cabling, which is always a good thing.

The pedal is true-bypass which means it won’t mess with your signal. And, if you activate the pedal but disengage the effect, it can be used as a buffered mono to stereo converter.
